Olympic Weightlifting Bar
A weightlifting bar and a powerlifting bar are two different bars designed for different types of powerlifting and they have some differences in functionality and dimensions.
The weightlifting bar used in Olympic weightlifting is designed specifically for grabbing and pushing. It is lighter and more flexible than a power bar. The barbell diameter is slightly thinner, usually around 28 mm, which allows for a better grip and handling when grabbing and pushing. The free-rotating bearings at the ends give the bar more dynamic movement and better control during heavy lifts.
The powerlifting bar, on the other hand, is designed for powerlifting, which consists of squats, bench presses and deadlifts. A power bar is stronger and stiffer than a weight bar. Its diameter is usually slightly thicker, around 29 mm, which improves its durability and stability during heavy lifting. Powerlifting bars usually do not have free-spinning bearings because precise control and level of stability are more important in powerlifting than dynamic movement.
Diameter 28 mm, PSI: 215,000, 10 pcs needle bearings, no center knurled, bar weight 20 kg, without locks, maximum load 680 kg.
