Heavier weight is not the only advantage of a metal jump rope. In addition, such a rope has increased strength, which makes the projectile more durable, even with hyperactive and frequent training. This is another advantage because of which professional athletes choose a metal jump rope.

For beginners, this sports jump rope option will not be an ideal first purchase. For them, there are lighter models without a special wear-resistant cable. When jumping at normal speed, the cable wears out much less. That is why the additional layer is often present only in PRO-speed models, such as this one.

The unusual shape of the handles with thickening was chosen by the manufacturer for a reason. When developing maximum anaerobic endurance through jumping rope, an athlete often tires faster in his arms and forearms, rather than in his leg muscles or respiratory system. Of course, a weighted jump rope is needed precisely for this, but acidifying the muscle groups of the arms too early cannot be called a useful bonus. This is what thickened handles are for. The athlete begins to perform jumps holding onto the thick edges of the rope. Once the forearms are lactated, he changes his grip to a narrow grip, thereby reducing the stress on the forearms. This change of grip allows you to continue jumping without a significant loss in the productivity of the training process.
